The new paradigm:

Sustainable rural development and climate action with bamboo

Wübu Bamboo

At Wübu, our mission is to promote sustainable development and environmental conservation through the cultivation and utilization of bamboo. We aim to create a self-sustaining ecosystem that provides economic opportunities for local communities while also contributing to global efforts to address climate change through carbon offsetting.

Our innovative and holistic approach to bamboo cultivation and use is based on the principles of ecological balance, social responsibility, and economic viability. We produce industrialized bamboo products under the highest quality standards, and export them worldwide to support the growth of sustainable economies.

Through our partnerships with investors, we seek to expand our bamboo plantations in Central America, creating more opportunities for sustainable development and carbon offsetting. We are committed to building a more sustainable and resilient future for both local communities and the planet as a whole.

Mission

What We Provide

01

At Wübu, we are dedicated to mitigating climate change through sustainable bamboo plantations and agroforestry systems, which go hand in hand with our partner CASSA CLIMA. Our approach includes carbon offsetting, eco-tourism, and circular economy practices, plus sustainable net zero livelihoods. We work hard to find markets for all products of our plantations, ensuring sustainable rural development and supporting local communities.

02

Through our agroforestry systems, bamboo plantations, and ecovillages, we aim to create a model for sustainable development that provides a better way of life for rural communities.

We work to empower local communities by providing training in sustainable agriculture, bamboo transformation, and ecotourism, as well as helping to find markets for their produce.

Our goal is to create a self-sustaining model of rural development that prioritizes the health of the planet and the well-being of its people.

03

In regards to our circular systems, we are committed to creating closed-loop production cycles that minimize waste and environmental impact.

This involves utilizing bamboo in a variety of ways, such as using the poles for building structures, transforming the raw bamboo into a range of value-added products, and incorporating bamboo leaves and branches into the agroforestry systems to enrich the soil and feed the animals.

By adopting circular systems, we are able to maximize the potential of our resources while minimizing waste, creating a sustainable and regenerative production model.

04

At Wübu, we believe that sustainable tourism can play a crucial role in promoting environmental conservation and rural development. That's why we offer unique eco-tourism opportunities for those interested in experiencing sustainable living and learning more about our bamboo plantations and agroforestry systems.

Our clients and investors not only get to enjoy a relaxing stay in our eco-villages and bungalows, but they also get to witness firsthand the positive impact of our sustainable practices on the environment and local communities.

By choosing to invest in sustainable tourism with Wubu, our clients and investors are not only supporting their own sustainable goals but also contributing to a brighter future for all.

05

Rural Developmenth Through Industrialization and High Quality Training

Our bamboo transformation plants aim to add value to the bamboo grown in our plantations and agroforestry systems. The plants will use sustainable and efficient technologies to process the bamboo into different products, such as building materials, crafts, furniture, biochar and more.

These products will be sold through our company, contributing to the development of sustainable rural economies. The transformation plants will also provide job opportunities for the people living in the ecovillages, fostering local entrepreneurship and skills development.

05

In terms of market development, we are committed to finding buyers for all of the products from our plantations and agroforestry systems, including bamboo shoots, bamboo timber, fruits, vegetables, and livestock.

We will work with local and global markets to establish sustainable supply chains that ensure fair prices for our farmers and producers while also meeting the demands of our customers.

We believe that this approach will not only support rural development and reduce poverty but also create a more resilient and sustainable global food system.

Solutions

We Plan, We Plant,
We Develop

Our planting and development programs are essential to achieving our sustainability goals. We carefully select the areas where we plant and take into consideration various factors such as topography, soil quality, and local community needs.

We have a rigorous planting schedule that ensures that our bamboo is planted at the optimal time of year for growth and survival. Additionally, we offer development programs that aim to improve the livelihoods of local communities and increase their resilience to the impacts of climate change.

These programs include training in sustainable agriculture, agroforestry, and bamboo cultivation, as well as supporting the establishment of community-based enterprises.

Through our planting and development programs, we aim to create a positive impact on the environment, society, and the economy.

Initiatives

Beautiful, lush vegetation, set on the Guatemalan Caribbean coast. 50 hectares of land, 30 of which have bamboo. Species: Guadua, Asper and Tulda.

Wild land in the margin of the Río Dulce, in Livingston. 16 hectares of beautiful and with many endemic species. Will be planted with Asper.

Massive property of 135 hectares, 30 of which are already planted with strong and big Dendrocalamus Asper plants.

Welcome to a unique opportunity to invest in a property with almost 900 hectares located in the vicinity of the bustling and growing city of Cobán, Guatemala.

A beautiful piece of land, used as pastures, now ready to be planted with 5000 plants of Dendrocalamus Asper in its 50 hectares of fertile soil.

Our agroforestry systems are designed to be in harmony with the environment, using natural methods to promote plant growth and protect biodiversity. By intercropping bamboo with other crops, we're able to promote food security and diversify income streams for local farmers.

We believe that businesses have a responsibility to address climate change and reduce their carbon footprint. That's why we partnered with CASSA CLIMA in order to offer carbon offsets, which allow companies to mitigate their greenhouse gas emissions by investing in sustainable projects like our bamboo plantations.

By purchasing our highest quality carbon offsets, companies can support our efforts to plant more bamboo and sequester carbon from the atmosphere.

We aim to have a positive impact on the environment and local communities by creating jobs, offering training seminars and developing rural economies through establishing industrial transformation plants and the sales of our bamboo products and equipment.

The tools and equipment needed to work with bamboo may look the same as those ones used for wood processing, but this material has specific needs and require precise tools in order to achieve efficiency and adequate finish, therefore, we have partnered with several companies to offer the highest quality and precise bamboo oriented tools and equipment for achieving the best final products. Please, check out our Tools and Equipment section.

We have partnered with local and international instructors to work with us in a series of seminars that are prepared for each group depending on their needs and objectives, aiming at sustainable development and taking advantage of international markets. Check out our Training Seminars section.

Our bamboo products are of the highest quality. They are produced on farms that have believed on the strength of bamboo and its capacity to change the actual paradigm of energy, climate, production and human life.

You may find, across Guatemala, many areas where we have lots of bagged plants, ready to put on your soil. Mainly, we have Guadua Angustifolia and Dendrocalamus Asper, but also carry many indigenous species of fruit bearing trees and precious woods. All to be used on our agroforestry systems or sold to anyone that wishes to care and nurture them.

For our bamboo poles, we have mainly Guadua and Asper. They are always cured, dryed and ready to dispatch, up to a certain quantity. For big orders, we need time to harvest, cure, clean, sand and dry.

Also, if there is need for other species of bamboo, we can provide them, but need to evaluate quantites, place of delivery and sizing, before offering a timeline.

After July 2023, we will be offering bamboo stripes, both raw and squared. Sizes and quantities, up to the client's need.

Later in 2024, we will be able to offer bamboo wood, bamboo engineered wood and other bamboo pressed products.

With all leftovers and poles that aren't up to standard for wood, we will produce the highest quality of bamboo biochar, a wonderful material that has the highest potential of carbon sequestering (Up to 1000 years when used in soil ammendments) and soil imporovement.
